Gary K Eckard AFSP –  Sr. Tax Preparer Head Accountant

Gary has been preparing taxes for over 30 years.  He started is career preparing tax returns at Beneficial Bank in the ’80’s.  He also starting doing bookkeeping for small business at that time.  He is our Corporation, LLC & Partnership expert.  He handles all our accounting clients.

Julie A Eckard – Enrolled Agent– AFSP – Office Manager – Accountant

Julie started preparing taxes full time when Gary opened the first Aapril Tax Service office in 1993.  She took over the office from him in 1994 and became the Office Manager.  In 2009 she passed the IRS Enrolled Agent exam.  She also helps with many of the accounting clients.

Patty Mendez AFSP – Tax Preparer – Habla Español

Patty has been with Aapril Tax Service since 2006.  She works mainly with our Spanish speaking clients.  She is also one of our ITIN (Individual Tax Identification Number) specialist.

Eric Eckard  AFSP – Tax Preparer

Eric has been with Aapril Tax Service since 2007.  A North Carolina native, he temporarily relocates to Waukegan for the first 6 weeks of the tax season to help his Sister-in-law, Julie in the office.

Tania Ortiz AFSP– Tax Preparer – Habla Español

Tania has been with Aapril Tax Service since 2009.  She works mainly with our Spanish speaking clients.  She is also one of our ITIN (Individual Tax Identification Number) specialist.

 Karla Carlos – AFSP – Receptionist – Bookkeeper – Habla Espanol

Karla has been with Aapril Tax Service since 2006.  She handles the front desk and answering the phones.  She also helps Gary with all of the accounting clients.  During the off season she is also Julie’s Spanish translator.

Bones McCoy Eckard – Security – CGC (Canine Good Citizen)

Bones has been with Aapril Tax Service since he was adopted by Julie in 2010.  He loves greeting our clients.  He enjoys being petted and if you bring him a treat you will be his favorite client.  We do know that many of our clients are not fond of dogs so we do keep him created unless the clients are comfortable with him wandering around the office.
